Newly crowned ICON Sport middleweight title holder Kala Kolohe Hose will headline the undercard of EliteXC’s “Return of the King” event against last-minute replacement opponent Robert McDaniel, at the Neal Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii this weekend.

EliteXC officials confirmed McDaniel’s participation at a pre-fight press conference yesterday.

Hose, who is currently riding a six-fight winning streak, picked up the biggest win of his young career in March with a fifth-round stoppage of veteran Phil Baroni to claim the vacant ICON Sport middleweight belt. Hose remains undefeated inside the confines of EliteXC.

McDaniel, a King of the Cage veteran, most recently scored a TKO win over Alex Cisne last month. Hose’s original foe, former hockey enforcer turned mixed martial artist Geoff Bumstead, had been removed from the card due to unknown reasons.

In a change of pace, the preliminary fights will be streamed on ProElite.com following the conclusion of the main card, which will be televised on Showtime starting at 10 PM ET.

The event will be headlined by an EliteXC lightweight title bout between current champion K.J. Noons and top contender Yves Edwards. Another lightweight fight between future DREAM title challenger Nick Diaz and Muhsin Corbbrey will also take place. Additional main card bouts also include former EliteXC middleweight champion Murilo “Ninja” Rua vs Tony Bonello, Ron Waterman vs Dave Herman, and Rafael Feijao vs Wayne Cole.
