Horn to Replace Leites Against Marquardt

Longtime mixed martial arts veteran Jeremy Horn will return to the UFC in February when he takes on Nate Marquardt in a middleweight bout at UFC 81: Breaking Point, which takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on February 2nd.

Horn will be replacing Thales Leites who was forced to pull out of his scheduled bout against Marquardt after suffering a broken hand during a training session earlier in the week.

The UFC made the announcement on their official website earlier this afternoon.

Horn has not fought in the UFC since submitting Chael Sonnen with an armbar at UFC 60. Horn was released from his contract shortly after the fight. In three separate stints in the UFC, Horn has racked up a winning record of 6-4.

Widely known as one of the most experienced fighters in the sport, Horn ranks third right behing Travis Fulton and Shonie Carter in terms of total career fights. Horn’s last fight was a losing effort against Jorge Santiago at an Art of War show in September. Santiago submitted Horn with a triangle choke in the second round of their fight.

A huge fight in my opinion. This is going to be a fun chess match to watch.
