The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced that UFC 103 will be headlined by a light heavyweight bout featuring former PRIDE welterweight and middleweight champion Dan Henderson taking on former UFC middleweight champion Rich “Ace” Franklin. Also on the card will be a heavyweight bout between Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic and Junior Dos Santos.

Henderson and Franklin last met at UFC 93 where Henderson walked away with a split decision victory. Since the bout, both fighters have appeared in the octagon once with Henderson scoring a vicious knock out over Michael Bisping while Franklin scored a unanimous decision over Wanderlei Silva.

Cro Cop last fought at UFC 99: The Comeback where he stopped Mustapha al Turk with strikes. Following the bout, there was controversy as various media outlets reported that Cro Cop had gone against his word and signed a three-fight contract with DREAM. Zuffa officials were unhappy but Lorenzo Fertitta mended the situation when he flew to Croatia and signed the former PRIDE star to a new contract.

Don Santos, a native of Salvador, Brazil, possesses a mixed martial arts record of 8-1. Dos Santos burst onto the UFC scene in ’08 knocking out top ranked heavyweight Fabricio Werdum. Dos Santos was last in action at UFC 95 where he stopped Stefan Struve.
