Hardcore Championship Fighting has announced that David Loiseau will take on a recently defeated Todd Gouwenberg in the main event of their upcoming “Crow’s Nest” show on March 29th.
The event, which is scheduled to take place at the Robert Guertin Arena in Gatineau, Quebec, was originally slated to have Loiseau take on Evanglista “Cyborg” Santos for the promotion’s middleweight title provided that Loiseau was victorious over Jason Day at HCF’s last event.
Then came a change of plans - Loiseau ended up losing a controversial split decision to Day.
After HCF officials decided to pair up Loiseau and Santos after all, the Chute Boxe product decided to sign with the newly former World Victory Road, which has him scheduled to go up against Makoto Takimoto at the promotion’s inaugural show next week.
Santos’ decision led to the terminiation of his contract with HCF.
“Mr. Santos chose to execute a competing contract inside the minimum time period allowed by HCF’s terms for fighters to engage in other events”, said HCF CEO Keith Crawford.
“We are sad to see him go, however we cannot allow fighters to dictate the terms of their contracts to us as this can impact the integrity of our events,” added HCF president Dave Houshiar.
Gouwenberg, who was stopped with strikes by Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at the promotion’s “Destiny” event earlier this month, will drop down to the middleweight division for the first time in his career.
