A previously rumored lightweight meeting between WEC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and a streaking Clay Guida has been signed for The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale on June 4 at The Palms Casino & Resort in Las Vegas.
UFC President Dana White announced the bout during a Q&A session prior to the weigh-ins for UFC Fight for the Troops II this afternoon in Killeen, TX. MMAJunkie.com was the first to report on it.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and rising contender Junior Dos Santos will serve as the head coaches for the upcoming thirteenth season of the reality show, which premieres on March 30.
Pettis, who grabbed the WEC lightweight belt from reigning title holder Ben Henderson with the help of his highlight-reel "Showtime Kick", will put his status as number-one contender for the UFC's lightweight strap on the line against Guida, while current champion Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard attempt to settle their recent draw in a rematch this May.
Guida has put together his second three-fight win streak inside the UFC, knocking off Shannon Gugerty and Rafael Dos Anjos before recently submitting longtime PRIDE lightweight king Takanori Gomi with a guillotine choke at UFC 125 earlier this month.
