
The Fight Network is reporting that lightweight contenders Tyson Griffin (9-1) and Thaigo Tavares (13-0) will clash at UFC 76.
UFC lightweight contender Tyson Griffin – having already been involved in two Fight of the Year candidates with Frankie Edgar and Clay Guida – confirmed Saturday he would be fighting undefeated Brazilian Thiago Tavares at UFC 76 Sept. 22 in Anaheim, Calif.
Tyson Griffin sports a mixed martial arts record of 9-1 with victories over the likes of Urijah Faber, Clay Guida, Duane Ludwig, and David Lee. Griffin’s sole loss came to Frankie Edgar at UFC 67: All or Nothing when he dropped a hard fought decision.
Griffin’s opponent, Thiago Tavares, sports a mixed martial arts record of 13-0 with victories over the likes of Marc Duncan, Naoyuki Kotani, and Jason Black.
UFC 76 is scheduled to take place September 22nd in Anaheim, California.
