Gabriel Gonzaga will look to get back to his winning ways when he takes on fellow heavyweight Fabricio Werdum at UFC 80: Rapid Fire this Saturday. Gonzaga discusses his loss to Randy Couture and his previous fight with Werdum earlier in his career with ESPN.

Gonzaga actually did spend a good amount of time on the ground with Cro Cop in their fight. He didn’t go for any submissions but he worked some good ground and pound and even cut Cro Cop open for an elbow.
Even though Gonzaga was working, Herb Dean decided to stand them up, which was odd. It didn’t really matter for Gonzaga though since he knocked Cro Cop out only seconds later.

Gabriel Gonzaga has wicked submissions, his ground game is fantastic! Surprising that he didn’t spend more time on the ground against crocop? Well however i admire him as a fighter.
