Fighters Confirmed for Sengoku 10

World Victory Road has announced six fighters set to participate on their upcoming card, Sengoku 10, which is scheduled for September 23 at the Saitama Community Arena in Japan.

Confirmed participants are Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, Joe “El Dirte” Doerksen, Ryan Schultz, Hiroshi Izumi, Kazunori Yokota, and Makoto Takimoto.

Silva, a member of American Top Team, possesses a mixed martial arts record of 12-1. Silva holds victories over Tom Erikson, Ricco Rodriguez, Wesley Correira, and Justin Eilers. Silva made his Sengoku in January ‘09 when he defeated Yoshihiro Nakao.

Doerksen, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, possesses a decorated mixed martial arts record of 42-12. Doerksen holds victories over the likes of Ryan McGivern, Brian Foster, Brendan Seguin, Patrick Cote, Ed Herman, and Chris Leben. Doerksen made his Sengoku debut in November ’08 stopping Izuru Takeuchi at Sengoku “Sixth Battle”.

Schultz, a native of Gresham, Oregon, possesses a mixed martial arts record of 20-11-1. Schultz, the former IFL lightweight champion, holds victories over the likes of Deividas Taurosevicius, John Gunderson, Chris Horodecki, and Aaron Riley. Schultz has appeared under the Sengoku banner twice dropping bouts to Mizuto Hirota and Jorge Masvidal.

Yokota, a member of Team Grabaka, possess a mixed martial arts record of 9-2-3. Yokota holds victories over Michihiro Omigawa, Yoshihiro Tomioka, and Minoru Tavares Tsuchiya. Yokota has appeared in Sengoku four times amassing a record of 3-1. Yokota owns Sengoku victories over the likes of Leonardo Santos, Mizuto Hirota, and Bojan Kosednar.

Takimoto, a PRIDE veteran, possesses a mixed martial arts record of 5-5. Takimoto holds victories over the likes of Henry Miller, Dong Sik Yoon, Zelg Galesic, and Murilo Bustamante. Takimoto has appeared in Sengoku three times dropping bouts to Frank Trigg and Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos while his lone victory came over Michael Costa.
