A lightweight bout between streaking contenders Frankie Edgar and Kurt Pellegrino could take place at The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale, which is slated to take place on December 5 at the Palms Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jon Anik of ESPN’s “MMA Live” reported the possibility of the bout via his Twitter account on Thursday afternoon. The matchup would more than likely take place on the Spike TV-televised main card.
Edgar picked up his biggest career win to date with a three-round handling of former UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk at UFC 98 in May. A 5-1 record in the UFC has only seen Edgar fall to a superior wrestler in Gray Maynard, which happens to be his only professional blemish as well.
After struggling to find consistency early on in his UFC career, Pellegrino has been enjoying a three-fight winning streak as of late, most recently winning a unanimous decision over Josh Neer at UFC 101 on August 8.
Additionally rumored fights for the “TUF 10 Finale” include Matt Hamill vs. Jon Jones, Dennis Hallman vs. John Howard, and Alessio Sakara vs. Rousimar Palhares.
