UFC president Dana White and former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz have buried the hatchet and plan to move forward in a professional manner.
The news comes from Twitter where White said, “Yes, Tito and I made up.” White continued, “Doesn’t mean he’s back, we just aren’t smashing each other anymore and we don’t hate each other.”
Ortiz also commented via Twitter, “Yeah, me and Dana White made up. I’m expecting to be inside the octagon again soon.”
Days before the Ortiz-White feud ended, Ortiz spoke with Sportsnet and said, “They’ve offered me a big contract. A big contract, bigger than any contract I’ve ever seen. But my integrity is too proud to be disrespected the way I did, I can’t respect myself if I do go back. Let me tell you, it’s some big money and I turned it down. I ain’t selling out man, I can’t.”
Speculation is Ortiz could be brought back to face Rich Franklin at UFC 103 on September 19 in Dallas, Texas. With that being said, Ortiz is coming off back surgery so it remains to be seen if he’ll be ready in time for a Sept. bout.
