CroCop is just an excellent example of a fight whose style was successful in a ring but not so much in an octagon.  He was great in Pride FC, but I don’t think he’ll ever be very successful in the UFC.

I think the Octagon is only a small part of the equation, add elbows on the ground, add all the other variables the UFC brings and it makes Crocop just another fighter in the UFC HW division, no longer in the elite-class of fighters IMO

I think the ufc and dana white favor wrestlers from the get go. Your are not allowed to knee a oppent when you stop his takedown and he is on the ground which is a big detorent to takedowns. Futhermore all a wrestler has to do is run at the other fighter and pin him against the cage then just elbow the fuck out of him(borring not to mention how hard it is for fans to see through the cage). ON the flip side look at how terrible a lot of ufc fighters have done in a ring Randy courtre knows better than to step into one look at what enson inoue did to him, or chuck liddel. At times i think it should be called the ultimate tackle then hold on the ground elbowig event.

Cro-Cop doesn’t want it as bad as he use to. He’s still a great fighter...and is still considered one of the top heavyweights in the world of MMA. He broke a rib in the first round and if u watch the fight closely in round 2 he got kneed in the nuts 2 times and in round 3 he got kneed inthe nuts again for the 2nd time twice. He had the right game plan in round 1 by putting the pressure on Kongo. Round 2 came around after the adrenaline wore down and figured that he broke his rib by one of kongos’ kicks. This happens in MMA and everyone thinks that Cro-Cop is supposed to just come into UFC and destroy everyone...that just doens’t happen like that all the time. He’s lost the will to really win...I think he just wanted the money...but we’ll see what happens. I say just put him in against Arloski let him destroy arloski...then let him fight slvia and we’ll go from there.

It’s funny how fast people jump ship. When Mirko (CROCOP) Fillapovic is winning, he is everyone’s favorite fighter. When he looses 2 fights in an unfamiliar setting, he sucks. That man is one of the most devastating strikers on the planet. He will get his head together and destroy someone’s head with his left high kick. Then once again, he will be your hero. In addition, as much as I like Fador I think he is afraid to put up his record against anyone who he may loose against. I like him but if you saw the fight against Matt lindland and how he was split open right off the bat and held on the rope to save his ass from the take down you can see that he is a man not a machine.
