- ESPN will be broadcasting the weigh-ins for UFC 71: Liddell vs. Rampage live at 4 pm PST (7 p.m. EST).

- According to UFCJunkie, Wanderlei Silva, has declared he will take the remainder of 2007 off to focus on his training.

The eagerly anticipated return of Southern Brazilian fighter Wanderlei Silva to the ring of Pride (or to the Octagon of the Ultimate Fighting Championship) will not happen in this year. For the first time in the year, Wandeco — as he is known to his friends — admitted that his return will wait until 2008. Among the reasons raised for the Chute Boxe Academy fighter’s sabbatical was his contractual situation and the need for a period of rest and improvement.

- Over the past few days rumors had be surfacing stating Tito Ortiz would be training with UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture for his upcoming fight at UFC 73. According to Mad-Squabbles.com that is not that case. They contacted Sean O’Heir, Director of Public Relations for Xtreme Coture and received the following statement:

Randy Couture is not going to Big Bear to train with Tito Ortiz. Randy Couture is not training with Tito, period.
