Carneiro, Edwards Win at Shine Fights II

UFC veterans Roan Carneiro and Yves Edwards were victorious in their respective featured bouts at Shine Fights’s second-ever event, dubbed “American Top Team vs. The World” at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida on Friday night.

Carneiro used superior grappling to earn a three-round unanimous decision over Brazilian MMA pioneer Jorge Patino while Edwards submitted replacement opponent James Warfield with a triangle choke in the second round.

Other notable bouts included PRIDE Fighting Championships veteran Luiz Firmino winning a unanimous decision over Team Quest product Ryan Healy and Micah Miller, attempting to find his way back into World Extreme Cagefighting’s featherweight division, submitting Anthony Morrison.
