Former UFC Middleweight Champion Murlio Bustamante will return to action at Yarennoka! on New Year’s Eve when he takes on former Olympic judo gold medalist Makoto Takimoto.
Both fighters have only fought once in 2007 and both competed during the month of April. Bustmante knocked out Ryuta Sakurai with a punch in the first round of their bout at DEEP’s 29th Impact while Takimoto submitted Zelg Galesic with a kimura at PRIDE 34.
Even though Takimoto is most likely the stronger fighter, Bustamante is technically sound and much more well-rounded than his opponent. I’m expecting this fight to go to the ground where Bustamante will score an early submission win.
