Welterweights Brad Blackburn and Roy Perales will clash during one of ten scheduled bouts at the upcoming ““Strikeforce at the Dome” event, slated to take place at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington on February 23rd.
Strikeforce Vice President Mike Afromowitz confirmed the bout with Josh Gross and Sherdog.
Blackburn was originally rumored to be fighting Steve Berger at the event but that speculation was shot down once Berger signed on to fight Duane “Bang” Ludwig.
Blackburn spent the last two years as a member of the IFL’s Seattle Tiger Sharks before leaving the promotion this past fall. Blackburn racked up three wins and two losses under the IFL banner, including an impressive stoppage victory over Jay Hieron in June of this year.
He is coming off of a no-contest against Travis Cox where he unintentionally struck Cox’s head with a knee while he was down. Cox was deemed unable to continue.
Perales, who goes by the nickname of “Relentless”, has struggled throughout his career, losing more fights than he has won. However Perales does own a win over Blackburn. The Boise, Idaho native won a unanimous decision over Blackburn at an Xtreme Fighting Championships event in October 2005.
