Bill Mahood Tests Positive For Drostanolone

The California State Athletic Commission has announced that UFC veteran Bill “The Butcher” Mahood has been suspended for one year and fined $2,500 after he tested positive for Drostanolone following his loss to Bobby Southworth at Strikeforce at the Mansion.

Drostanolone is an anabolic popular with bodybuilders, typically because it causes excess water retention which may give the muscles a smooth, ripped appearance.

According to the report, Mahood’s suspension will run through Sept. 6, 2008, which marks the end of his licensing year and then he will have an additional 22 days tacked on to make it a full year.
