Canadian welterweight prospect Ryan Ford announced via Facebook on Wednesday that he has signed with Bellator Fighting Championships.
The 29-year-old expects to make his promotional debut at the organization's planned Canadian debut at the Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario in October. Bellator officials have yet to announce the event nor confirm Ford's signing or participation.
A longtime staple of Mark Pavelich's Maximum Fighting Championship brand, Ford has registered a 16-3 mark as a professional. Nicknamed "The Real Deal", Ford holds notable career wins over a handful of UFC veterans, including LaVerne Clark, Tommy Speer, former welterweight contender Karo Parisyan and Pete Spratt on two separate occasions.
Ford has recently racked up four straight wins, most recently dispatching of Nick Hinchcliffe via third-round TKO at Aggression MMA 7 on June 10.
