The California State Athletic Commission has released the official list of medical suspensions stemming from Affliction’s “Day of Reckoning” show, which took place on January 24 in Anaheim.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski, who suffered a first-round knockout loss to Fedor Emelianenko, has been suspended for 45 days and will need to be cleared by a physician before he is permitted to return. The same goes for the other two fighters who were knocked out at the event, Matt Lindland and Jason High.
Vladimir Matyushenko was also knocked unconscious in a rematch with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, but could be sidelined for up to 180 days because of a possible fractured ankle. Paul Buentello and Albert Rios will be out of action for the same amount of time due to a possible broken right hand and fractured right foot respectively.
Gilbert Yvel received the next highest medical suspension at 60 days due to cuts suffered in his loss to Josh Barnett. Patrick Speight and L.C. Davis received similar suspensions. Kiril Sidellnikov and Bao Quach were both suspended 45 days for precautionary reasons.
