Affliction Entertainment today announced the updated fight card for its third event, titled “Trilogy”, which will take place on August 1 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California under promotion of Affliction, M-1 Global and Golden Boy Promotions among others.
The show will be headlined by a WAMMA heavyweight title bout between current champion and perennial heavyweight king Fedor Emelianenko and top contender and former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett.
Additional bouts slotted for the main card include one-time DREAM middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi vs. Renato “Babalu” Sobral, former UFC light heavyweight title holder Vitor Belfort vs. Sengoku middleweight champ Jorge Santiago, and Jay Hieron vs. Paul Daley.
Notable veterans tapped for the card that remain without opponents include UFC heavyweight title challenger Paul Buentello, rising prospect Brett Cooper, and IFL veteran and skilled grappler Deividas Taurosevicius.
The event’s main card will be televised on pay-per-view while a one-hour special will air on digital cable channel HDNet featuring a select number of preliminary bouts prior to that.
