Kimbo Slice to Fight Roy Nelson on Next Week’s “TUF 10” Episode

Even if you didn’t watch last night’s episode of “The Ultimate Fighter 10”, you’ve probably heard about it anyway. Former EliteXC star Kimbo Slice will step into the UFC’s Octagon for the first time to face former IFL heavyweight champion and “TUF 10” tournament favorite Roy Nelson on next week’s episode on Spike. Above is a little video previewing the bout between the two.

Spike Announces “TUF 10: The Aftermath”

NEW YORK – Spike TV’s hit series “The Ultimate Fighter” has propelled mixed martial arts into the American mainstream while becoming the most successful franchise in the network’s history. With its tenth iteration having premiered to record ratings, Spike.com will launch the original series “The Ultimate Fighter: The Aftermath.”

Hosted by Amir Sadollah, the new show will be a video roundtable discussion about the on-air episode that precedes it, with the fighters that competed in an elimination bout on hand to talk about what went on, both inside and outside of the Octagon, during “The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights”.

The Ultimate Fighter 10: Meet The Heavyweights

The Ultimate Fighter 10 premieres on Wednesday, September 16 following the live broadcast of UFC Fight Night 19 featuring Melvin Guillard vs. Nate Diaz. The Ultimate Fighter 10 will include coaches Quinton Jackson and Rashad Evans along with established heavyweights Kimbo Slice, Roy Nelson, and Wes Sims.

Hamill vs. Jones Slated For The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale

Fresh off signing a new multi-fight contract with the UFC, light heavyweight prospect Jon “Bones” Jones will lock horns with Matt Hamill at The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale which is currently slated for December 5 at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Also expected to appear on The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale is a middleweight attraction featuring Alessio Sakara and Rouimar Palhares.

UFC 103: Franklin vs. Belfort Prelims to Air Live on Spike TV

Spike TV has officially announced that it will air a portion of UFC 103’s undercard live and commercial-free on Saturday, September 19 at 9 PM EST.

“Providing an action-packed UFC pay-per-view, live and commercial free to our viewers on both coasts, further illustrates Spike TV and the UFC’s commitment to its fans,” Spike TV president Kevin Kay said to UFC.com.

- Canadian middleweight Patrick “The Predator” Cote will be out until 2010 after undergoing surgery to repair his injured MCL. Cote originally injured his knee in his UFC 90 title bout with Anderson Silva and is now expected to be out until at least February. [Sportsnet]

- Following WEC 42, $10,000 bonuses were handed out for Knockout of the Night, Submission of the Night, and Fight of the Night. The winners were Brian Bowles (KOTN), Rani Yahya (SOTN), and Dominick Cruz and Joseph Benavidez (FOTN). [MMAWeekly.com]

Dana White to Make “Special Announcement” Thursday Night on Spike

UFC President Dana White is scheduled to make one of his patented “special announcements” tomorrow night during the Spike TV broadcast of the “2009 VGAs First Look E3 Special” at 11 PM ET.

Back in 2007, White revealed that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Forrest Griffin would be coaching against each other on the seventh season of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show. Jackson is once again rumored to be taking the reigns on the upcoming tenth season, alongside future opponent and newly crowned light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida. Could that be White’s announcement?
