Bellator's anticipated trek into the world of reality television will air on Spike this summer and will be led by some legendary company.
UFC hall of famer Randy Couture, former multiple-promotion champion Frank Shamrock, renowned coach Greg Jackson and former Bellator featherweight title holder Joe Warren will serve as coaches on the inaugural season of "Fight Master: Bellator MMA".
Bellator and Spike officials held a press conference on Tuesday to formally announce the project. The show will feature 32 up-and-coming welterweight prospects vying for a spot in a Bellator welterweight tournament this fall.
Check back here at 8 PM ET for the live Bellator 86 preliminary bouts, which are topped by a lightweight meeting between "TUF" season ten contestant Sevak Magakian and local Michigan product Jason Fischer.
Ben Askren is evolving.
On a night that many expected Askren's smothering top position and submissions to do Karl Amoussou in, it was Askren's new ground-and-pound that put away the Frenchman in his latest Bellator welterweight title defense in the main event of Bellator 86 on Thursday night at the Winstar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
Prior to the bout, Askren predicted a finish and he delivered. It was his second stoppage under the Bellator banner and his first since he submitted Ryan Thomas in his promotional debut back in April 2010.

Bellator's coming out party on Spike's airwaves resumes tonight with Bellator 86, emanating from the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma and headlined by a welterweight world title tilt between champion Ben Askren and challenger Karl Amoussou.
The return of Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal tops the undercard which will complete the light heavyweight tournament quarterfinals and kick off the welterweight pairings as well. MMA on Tap will be going live at 6 PM ET with real-time results of tonight’s Bellator 82 event, which takes place at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
Bellator 82 will be headlined by the welterweight tournament final featuring a bout between Lyman Good and Andrey Koreshko. Also on the card will be a middleweight slugfest between Doug Marshall and Kala Hose.

All of the participants for Bellator 82 successfully made weight in preparation for their bouts on Friday evening at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. The preliminary fights will air live on Spike.com followed by the main card on MTV2.
The card will be headlined by the Season 7 welterweight tournament final featuring Lyman Good and Andrey Koreshkov. The winner will receive $100,000 plus a shot at Bellator welterweight champion Ben Askren. Also on the card will be a battle between middleweight sluggers Doug Marshall and Kala Hose.

Grant sidelined due to injury, "TUF" season eight lightweight Efrain Escudero will return to the UFC to take on Jacob Volkmann in at UFC 141 on December at the 30 MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Escudero was abruptly released from the UFC after posting a 2-2 record, becoming only the second "TUF" winner to be released at the time. Since then, he has won five of six in regional promotions. The complete cast has been announced for "The Ultimate Fighter 14" which debuts on September 21 and will serve as the final season of the reality series on Spike TV before it shifts over to FX in 2012.
"TUF 14" will be the first season to ever feature fighters in the featherweight and bantamweight divisions. The 32 hopefuls will be coached by UFC middleweight contenders Jason "Mayhem" Miller and Michael Bisping, who will fight on the show's finale in December.
