The Ultimate Fighting Championship will return to the state of Florida for the first time since February 2009 for UFC on FX 3, which will now take place at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise after the city of Fort Lauderdale won the "Hometown Throwdown" contest in conjunction with the UFC and Harley-Davidson.

The UFC announced the results this afternoon. UFC on FX 3 will be headlined by the continuation of the UFC's inaugural flyweight title tournament, which will see a rematch between Ian McCall and Demetrious Johnson with the winner meeting Joseph Benavidez for the first-ever UFC flyweight title belt later this year.

McCall and Johnson drew in their first meeting, an exciting back-and-forth battle at UFC on FX 2 earlier this month. A fourth overtime round was not used as Johnson was originally declared the bout's winner by split decision before an error tabulating the judges' scorecards revealed the fight was actually even.

Other rumored bouts for the event include a welterweight battle between longtime veterans Mike Pyle and Josh Neer as well as another pivotal 170 lb clash between standout wrestler Charlie Brenneman and rising Brazilian prospect Erick Silva.

DREAM welterweight champion Marius Zaromskis and King of the Cage veteran Waachiim Spiritwolf will reportedly fight for the second time at Bellator 68, which is scheduled for the Palladium Ballroom at Caesars in Atlantic City, New Jersey on May 11.

The news comes from MMA Junkie, citing sources close to the event. Bellator 68 will likely feature the semifinals of the promotion's season six welterweight tournament.

Zaromskis and Spiritwolf originally met under the Strikeforce banner in November 2010 with the fight being stopped and ruled a no-contest in just six seconds after Spiritwolf was unable to recover from an accidental poke in the eye.

Since then, Zaromskis has won three out of his last four fights, his lone loss coming at the hands of then-streaking welterweight prospect Jordan Mein while Spiritwolf has struggled as of late, dropping two out of his last three.

Nick Diaz to Compete in BJJ Superfight While Debating MMA Future

Nick Diaz's future in mixed martial arts remains up in the air. His camp says that their fighter still hasn't made a decision yet regarding his place in the sport, and he still also has a hearing next month in the state of Nevada.

For now, Diaz is content to just grapple.

The World Jiu-Jitsu Expo and Cesar Gracie, Diaz's trainer and manager, have confirmed that Diaz will compete in a BJJ super-fight at the WJJE on May 12 in Long Beach, Calif.

According to Gracie, Diaz wanted to enter one of the WJJE's tournaments, however, Expo officials chose to have him only compete in a super-fight. No opponent has been signed just yet.

Diaz, a black belt under Gracie, hasn't competed in a BJJ match in two years. Gracie said the UFC, "usually doesn't want (Nick) competing (in BJJ) if it's near a fight, (but) he has no fight lined up."

Ross Goodman Says That Nick Diaz Didn’t Do Anything Wrong

Does the name Ross Goodman ring a bell? He was behind the short-lived resurrection of the WFA back in '06. He's also Nick Diaz's attorney heading into his hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission next month.

Goodman also believes that his client has a case:

Sherdog.com: Whether or not carboxylic acid is a banned substance per the letter of the regulations, isn’t it still a trace element of marijuana and proof of use?

Goodman: Of course, it’s directly related from marijuana use, but the point is this: it’s not only Nevada, the World Anti-Doping Agency and most other regulatory bodies only prohibit the active ingredient of marijuana in-competition and not out-of-competition. So that’s an important distinction that I think everybody has to make, and, again, Nick Diaz didn’t test for marijuana, only marijuana metabolite and marijuana metabolite itself, it’s not prohibited, both in Nevada and by the world Anti-Doping Agency, which is the international organization that monitors and regulates sports competitions. Nick Diaz did not violate any rule by having an inactive metabolite in his post-fight urine test.
