We’re a little more than 24 hours away from one of the most anticipated fights in the history of the sport. Despite both fighters continuing to distance themselves from their respective career primes, legendary heavyweights Randy Couture and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will finally clash in the main event of UFC 102 this Saturday night.
It’s a dream matchup that has been discussed for years and years now. Will the dirty boxing and powerful wrestling of Couture be able to match up against Nogueira’s famous ground game and unreal durability? What do you think?
Much is being made about the fact that the light heavyweight clash between former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell and PRIDE Fighting Championships standout Mauricio “Shogun” Rua is essentially a “do-or-die” fight for both involved.
Liddell can’t afford to lose for the fourth time in five fights if he wants to continue fighting at the level he wants to and another loss for “Shogun” inside the UFC would continue to fuel rumors regarding his downfall since the demise of PRIDE.
Thus, this weekend’s co-main event for UFC 97 is being anticipated by many. Who do you think will win? Will Liddell be able to revive his storied career after Saturday night or will Rua continue his rise back to prominence with a win against a fellow former light heavyweight king?
Months of bad blood and trash talking will finally culminate at this weekend’s EliteXC: Street Certified, where EliteXC heavyweight sensation and internet street fighting legend Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson will take on legendary former UFC brawler David “Tank” Abbott.
While the fight may not be the sure-fire slugfest everyone is hoping for, it will sure be entertaining nonetheless. With the event only now days away, it begs the question - Who is going to win this Saturday?

There are four major MMA events taking place on or around New Year’s Eve this year as everyone already knows. I think a poll asking which event you are most looking forward to might e a little one-sided so I’ve decided to switch things up a bit.
Which New Year’s Eve fight are you most looking forward to? I’ve narrowed down the list to seven but if you feel that another fight should be included, speak up and I’ll gladly add it to the list.
As far as the Aoki-Calvancanti fight goes, I’m not too sure about anything definite, but from what I heard Greg Savage say today on Sherdog, it seems that the fight may not be happening. Again, I have very little information about the situation so I’ll wait for more before I post anything.
Yesterday it was announced that current UFC lightweight champion Sean “Muscle Shark” Sherk tested positive for nandrolone, an anabolic agent, following his successful title defense at UFC 73: Stacked. Our question to you is, “Should Sean Sherk be stripped of the title?”
In the past we saw heavyweight champions Tim Sylvia and Josh Barnett test positive for anabolic agents and both fighters were stripped of their titles and suspended. Should Sherk get the same treatment?
