Alex Garcia, who last fought in October 2011, didn’t waste any time shaking off the rust. Garcia made quick work of journeyman Stephane Lamarche, securing a rear naked choke in just the first round. With the victory, Garcia raised his MMA record to an impressive 8-1.
Aiemann Zahabi, brother of Firas, was successful in his professional MMA debut pounding out Kyle Vivian in just under a round. Zahabi took Vivian to the canvas early and rained down a barrage of punches that forced the Ontario native to tap.

Following the event, UFC officials announced that St. Pierre-Condit (Fight of the Night), Ivan Menjivar (Submission of the Night), and Johny Hendricks (KO of the Night) all received $70,000 bonuses.
The UFC has announced that welterweight contenders Jon Fitch and Demian Maia will lock horns at UFC 156. UFC president Dana White said, “Maia hopes to move up the welterweight rankings by taking out perennial contender Fitch. Fitch wants to build on his Fight of the Night-winning victory over Erick Silva." [UFC]
Despite earlier reports of The Ultimate Fighter being moved to Wednesday nights on FX, a FX official has stated that it’s highly unlikely TUF will air on Wednesday nights. An official announcement is expected to come within the next two or three weeks. [MMA Fighting]

The card also saw Bellator middleweight star Alexander Shlemenko halt Ikuhisa Minowa with strikes in the first round and Ryan Healy win a unanimous nod over Paul Kelly.
CHICAGO, Ill. (April 6, 2012) — Bellator Fighting Championships made its first ever trip to Winsor, Ontario and they brought with them a stacked card that included Ben Askren’s dominant victory over Douglas Lima as well as a Featherweight Tournament Semifinal victory for Marlon Sandro.
Additionally, Travis Marx and Hiroshi Nakamura became the first two to advance to the semifinal round of the Bellator Bantamweight Tournament Friday night at Bellator 64 from Caesars Windsor in Windsor, Ontario live on MTV2 and in HD on EPIX.
In the main event of the evening, the Bellator Welterweight Title was on the line as defending champion Ben Askren faced off against Season 5 Welterweight Tournament Winner Douglas Lima. Quickly becoming a staple of Askren fights, the five rounds were dominated by the two-time National wrestling champion. Frustrated, Lima attempted submissions off his back but failed to overcome the grinding style of the U.S. Olympian. With “Funky” holding steady in the dominant position throughout the duration of the fight, the outcome was clear as the champion won every round on the judges’ scorecards.

Jason "Mayhem" Miller will apparently be getting another chance in the UFC after all. Miller has revealed that he will face C.B. Dollaway at UFC 146, which is tentatively scheduled for May 26 in Las Vegas, Nevada. "Mayhem" returned to the UFC this past December, falling to fellow "TUF 14" coach Michael Bisping via third-round TKO. Dollaway has his last two bouts, stoppages at the hands of Jared Hamman and Mark Munoz respectively. [MMA Weekly]
DEEP lightweight champ Mizuto Hirota made a successful title defense against Seichi Ikemoto in the featured attraction of DEEP's "57 Impact" event in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday, winning a three-round unanimous decision. Other notable results from the card saw Kazunori Yokota defeat Hideki Kadowaki by decision, Yoshiro Media submit Takafumi Otsuka in the second round, Daisuke Nakamura hand Akihiro Gono his fifth loss in eight fights and Amanda Lucas announce her cut down to 145 lbs following her submission of Yumiko Hotta. A handful of notable UFC veterans were in action at last night's Superior Cage Combat 4 event at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday night.
The show's main event saw slick striker Jay Silva go out of his element and submit "Ultimate Fighter" season three middleweight winner Kendall Grove with an arm-triangle choke in the secound round. Grove fell into unconsciousness at the 1:52 mark.
In addition, Team Tompkins member John Gunderson partook in a back-and-forth battle with Team Alpha Male's Justin Buccholz before submitting the Sacramento native with a kimura in the middle of the third stanza, earning the SCC lightweight title in the process.
