Despite shooting down rumors of an impending drop in weight last week, former two-time UFC lightweight title challenger Kenny Florian has confirmed that he will be moving to the featherweight divison for his next fight.

Florian told ESPN.com on Monday that he is planning on testing the waters at 145 lb before eventually heading back up to lightweight.

"I spoke with a few nutritionists, got their opinions, told them what my body fat was, my walking-around weight, all that stuff and the general consensus was that it was very possible," Florian said of his move. "I put a lot of thought into it, spoke with my coaches and everybody involved and decided that I am going to try it. I'm going to go for it."

Donald Cerrone overcame a slow start to submit Paul Kelly with a second-round rear naked-choke in his UFC debut. The bout served as the feature preliminary attraction at UFC 126 on Saturday.

Cerrone (14-3) may have been thrown off at the start of the fight, as Kelly (11-4) threw a punch while Cerrone was attempting to touch gloves. Kelly held his own in the first round, giving up a pair of takedown attempts but landing his fair share of punches and kicks.

Much of the same went on in the second, until Cerrone took Kelly down and quickly moved to mount. Kelly gave up his back and Cerrone dealt out some punishment before locking in the choke and forcing a tap.

Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort hit the marks for their UFC 126 middleweight title bout tomorrow night in Las Vegas, and then nearly came to blows during a staredown.

In response to remarks Belfort made about Silva "wearing a mask" as a fighter, the champion did just that, donning a plain white mask and going nose-to-nose with Belfort. The two exchanged words and had to be held back by their cornermen before being separated.

All fighters successfully made weight with the exception of Mike Pierce, who weighed in one pound over the welterweight limit. Video of the weigh-ins are after the jump.
