Kansas City, KS – Two last-minute, high-profile withdrawals from this Friday’s Titan Fighting Championship 18 event have sent organizers scrambling to re-stock the card. However, the efforts of Titan officials have led to the last-minute additions to a rising brother act in the sport of mixed martial arts in former Oklahoma State wrestling standouts Jake Rosholt and Jared Rosholt.

The decision to add the high-profile Rosholt Brothers to the card was necessitated after Titan officials were recently informed that both Rory Markham and Drew McFedries would be unable to compete this Friday on the HDNet televised card (starting at 10 p.m. ET) as had been previously scheduled.

Titan officials were notified late Monday night that McFedries had been hospitalized due to an infection and that Markham, who is pursuing a full-time career in film, had been offered a high-profile role that would require him to leave the country and report to the set in advance of Friday’s event.

Wagner Stops Sylvia in 32 Seconds at TFC 16

Tim Sylvia. Photo by Esther Lin/AllElbows.com.

It seems as if Tim Sylvia's days as a top heavyweight in MMA have come to an abrupt end. Long gone is the dominant and consistant former UFC heavyweight champion that we once knew.

An overweight and out-of-shape Sylvia was left dazed and confused just 32 seconds into his main event bout against "TUF 10" contestant Abe Wagner at Titan Fighting Championships 16 at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, KS.

After a wild exchange on the feet between both fighters, Wagner caught Sylvia with a quick right hand. Sylvia backtracked to the other side of the cage and Wagner followed, unleashed a blitz of lefts and rights with a final combination catching Sylvia on the chin and sending him face down onto the canvas.

“Ultimate Fighter 8” lightweight winner Efrain Escudero kept his perfect record intact on Saturday night, scoring a devastating first-round stoppage of fellow “TUF” alumnus and skilled grappler Cole Miller during the preliminary portion of UFC 103.

Both Escudero and Miller opted to spend the first couple minutes of their Spike TV-televised attraction feeling each other out on the feet. Miller used a substantial reach advantage to land a number of jabs and stiff right hands while Escudero timed some of Miller’s leg kicks and put Miller on the mat on two separate occasions.

The Illinois State Athletic Commission has released the official list of medical suspensions stemming from last month’s UFC 90: “Silva vs. Cote” event, which took place at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on October 25.

The event saw Anderson Silva retain his UFC middleweight title over Patrick Cote via third-round TKO after Cote tore his ACL in the late stages of their championship fight. Former UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk and rising welterweight contender Thiago Alves were also victorious on the card.

Cote has been medically suspended for 45 days and will be unable to participate in contact training sessions for 30 days due to his knee injury. However the Quebec City native is expected to be out of action for at least six months following surgery to repair the injury.

Heavyweight contender Fabricio Werdum, who was knocked out by newcomer Junior dos Santos on the main card, has been sidelined for two months while Drew McFedries, who was submitted by Thales Leites, has been given a mandatory one-month vacation.
