American Top Team's Ken Stone will look for his second UFC win against Edwin Figueroa in a preliminary bantamweight bout at UFC on FX 4 on June 22 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The UFC announced that the two fighters had verbally agreed to meet yesterday afternoon. UFC on FX 4 will be headlined by a pivotal lightweight clash between former title contender Gray Maynard and fan-favorite Clay Guida.

After dropping his first two bouts under the Zuffa banner, Stone picked up his first UFC win in September, putting journeyman Donny Walker to sleep with a rear-naked choke in the first round.

His opponent, Figueroa, lost a hard fought unanimous decision to Michael McDonald in his UFC debut, but has since bounced back to record consecutive victories over Jason Reinhardt and Alex Caceres.

Gina Carano Comments on Miesha Tate vs. Ronda Rousey

Gina Carano. Photo by Esther Lin/

With Gina Carano and Cris "Cyborg" Santos now absent from the world of women's MMA, a March 3 matchup between Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey will now serve as a platform for one of them to become the new face of the female side of the sport.

Still away from the game due to acting commitments, Carano gave her take on the Tate-Rousey matchup and discusses her excitement about a bout that should be an exciting one.

“I completely thought that Marloes Coenen was going to win in that last fight against Miesha, so I was really impressed with Miesha. I think Miesha Tate works really hard and I think a lot of people thought Marloes was going to win that fight, so I think she gained a lot of respect from a lot of people. I don’t think we can underestimate her anymore. She’s a legit opponent.”

“I think it’s really cool that Ronda’s an Olympic athlete. She’s been a part of a lot of competitions, she’s got the drive, and obviously she’s got the skill,” Carano stated. “Not one of her fights has gone out of the first round, so I think it’s going to be really interesting to see. Both of those women are hard workers and have stronger personalities. I hope that it does well. I’m super excited about it.”

Carano also states in the article that she has been hesitant to attend some women's fights live in fear of taking the spotlight of off the fighters because the cameras could focus on her in the crowd. Here's to hoping that she does decide to be in Columbus, Ohio next month for what will be a passing of the torch so to speak.

Jake Ellenberger took all he could handle from tenacious veteran Diego Sanchez but ended up earning a unanimous decision in front of his hometown crowd in the main event of the first-ever UFC on FUEL TV event in Ellenberger's hometown of Omaha, Nebraska on Wednesday night.

The fight capped off an action-packed card at what looked to be a sold-out Omaha Civic Auditorium. The partisan crowd saw Ellenberger take one step closer to a UFC welterweight title shot with his six straight win in the division.

Ellenberger, who currently trains alongside Mark Munoz at Reign MMA, controlled the fight early on, frustrated Sanchez with good footwork and a steady diet of jabs and strong right hands. An always game Sanchez remained in the pocket and tried to keep up with his foe, landing occasional shots.
