UFC 61 and UFN 5 Cards Complete

The UFC has officially announced the remaining fights set to take place at UFC 61 and ‘Ultimate Fight Night’. Rounding off the June 28th ‘Ultimate Fight Night’ card fans will see Rob MacDonald vs. Kristian Rothaermel and Justin Levens vs. Jorge Santiago. UFC 61 will have a welterweight battle between Drew Fickett and Kurt Pellegrino and tough lightweight Hermes Franca will take on Roger Huerta.

Colorado Bans Amateur MMA

The Colorado State Athletic Commission has put a ban on all amateur mixed martial arts which is effective immediately.

Dana White and Tito Ortiz to Spar

Dana White and Tito Ortiz both hate each other and they’ll both have a chance to settle it in the ring. When Ortiz signed with the UFC last year he made sure that a special clause was added to his contract stating that he and Dana White will spar for three three-minute rounds.

Jeremy Horn Done in the UFC

After beating Chael Sonnen at UFC 60 it has been announced that the UFC will not re-sign Jeremy Horn. The fight against Sonnen was his third on a three fight deal which saw him face Chuck Liddell, Trevor Prangley and Chael Sonnen who replaced an injured Evan Tanner.

TUF 3 Finale Set

With the conclusion of the semi-finals of ‘The Ultimate Fighter III’ last night, we saw Ed Herman handle Rory Singer and choke him out earning himself a shot at Kendall Grove in the season finale. We also were able to see two light heavyweight fights last night. The first fight was Josh Haynes vs. Jesse Forbes. There was some great first round action where Haynes saw himself in trouble a numerous times. When the second round came Jesse had no energy left and got caught in a guillotine choke forcing him to tap. In the second light heavyweight fight we saw Mike Bisping and Ross Pointon step into the cage and slug with out with Bisping catching Ross with a flying knee making it Josh Haynes vs. Mike Bisping in the finale. The UFC also announced the other fights that are set to take place on the undercard.
