Bustamante Wants USA Return

Murilo Bustamante was interviewed at Pride Bushido 12, where he commented on a possible return to the United States.

Asked when he’ll be fighting again, Bustamante said, “I hope pretty soon. I want to fight this year. I hope to fight next Pride, in the States. I am excited this happened because I like fighting in the States. A long time ago I fought there. I’m excited to get back there and fight for the American fans.”

Bustamante last fought in the States when he defeated Matt Lindland and won the UFC Middleweight title at UFC 37.

Sakuraba Cleared to Fight

Kazushi Sakuraba has been cleared to fight on the upcoming Hero’s show which will take place October 9th at the Yokohama Arena.

It was also revealed by K-1 official’s that Sakuraba’s MRI showed no signs of brain damage or injuries.

Stout to Defend Title Against Estrada

TKO World Lightweight Champion Sam Stout will defend his title against Jay Estrada at TKO 27: Reincarnation on September 29th. Stout and Estrada have fought before in what happened to be the professional MMA debut for both fighters -  Estrada submitted Stout in the first round.

Heavyweight Fight Announced For UFC 63

On top of announcing Tyson Griffin vs. David Lee, the UFC made it official that Gabriel Gonzaga and Mario Neto will battle in the octagon.

Also added to the UFC 63 card, which will be held at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California is an intriguing heavyweight clash between UFC contender Gabriel Gonzaga and Mario ‘Sukata’ Neto, a rugged veteran who will fight in the Octagon for the first time.

Tyson Griffin Has Arrived

Tyson Griffin has arrived! Highly touted lightweight prospect Tyson Griffin will be making his octagon debut against fellow UFC newcomer David Lee. Griffin sports a mixed martial arts record of 7-0 and he has TKO victories over Duane Ludwig and Urijah Faber.

Griffin’s opponent, David Lee sports a record of 5-1 with all of his victories coming by submission. The London, England native has really beat any notable names but being a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Lee should prove to be a tough task for the undefeated Griffin.

Stephan Bonnar Injured

After losing his second straight decision to Forrest Griffin, Stephan Bonnar revealed to fans that he suffered a few injuries in training which weighed heavily upon him entering the fight with Griffin. During training Bonnar received a cut which required stitches so that made him overly cautious in the first round.

“Yeah, looking back, I was overly cautious in first round because of the stitches” Bonnar said Monday afternoon.

On top of the cut Bonnar made it clear that he also broke his hand in several places early in the fight with Griffin which will force him to sit out for the better part of a year.

“I’m not feeling too good, I shattered my right hand in five places and am going to need surgery” Bonnar revealed.

“Oh yeah I knew right when I hit him it that it broke. After watching the fight I’m pretty sure it was in the first round” he said.
